Minutes of a special meeting of Council
held on January 26 1981 at 1:30 p.m. in
Court Room #2
Present were:
Mayor Garnet B. Rickard
Councillor Ann Cowman
Councillor Diane Hamre
Councillor Marie Hubbard
Councillor Maurice Prout
Councillor Bruce Taylor
Councillor Edward R. Woodyard
Town Clerk, J. M. McIlroy
K. Degroot, Treasurer
David J. D. Sims, Q.C., Town Solicitor

Moved by Councillor Hubbard, seconded by Councillor Prout
THAT the agenda submitted be approved.

Resolution #C-72-8l
Moved by Councillor Woodyard, seconded by Councillor Taylor
THAT the meeting be In Committee of the Whole.
"CARRIED"
There were general discussions on budget guidelines for 1981
but no resolutions were made.
Resolution #C-73-8l
Moved by Prout, seconded by Councillor Cowman
THAT the report from Mr. K. Degroot, Treasurer of the Town of
Newcastle and Mr. Gordon W. Savage, Assistant Business
Administrator of the Northumberland and Newcastle Board of
Education be received and that based on this report Council go
on record as being in favour of the Town of Newcastle transferring
to the Durham Board of Education.
