REPORT 111
Mayor Rickard and Members of Council:-
The following is a report of the meeting of the Planning and Development
Committee held on June 23, 1980:
1.
Reconstruction of Highway #2 - Courtice Urban Area
It was recommended to Council that whereas Amendment #12 to the Darlington Township
Official Plan has been approved by the Ministry of Housing and whereas that
document designates the urban area boundary for the Courtice area; it is hereby
resolved that Town Council requests the Ministry of Transportation and Communications
to consider revising their plans for the reconstruction of Highway #2 so that the
proposed urban section of Highway #2 coincides with the boundaries of the Courtice
Urban area as shown in Amendment #12 to the Darlington Official Plan.

O.M.B. Hearing - Honeyman
It was recommended to Council that Planning Staff and the Town Solicitor be
authorized to attend the O.M.B. Hearing of an Appeal by Joan A. Honeyman against
the decision of the Region of Durham Land Division Committee in respect of
application for severance No. LD 434/79, in support of the decision and/or
resolve the matter with the applicant prior to the Hearing.
3.
Bowmanville Urban Area Plan
It was recommended to Council that:
1. Report P-111-80 be received
2. The draft Bowmanville Urban Area Plan be placed on public display at the
following locations:
Newcastle Town Hall - (Temperance Street Bowmanville)
Newcastle Public Library - (Bowmanville Branch)
Newcastle Planning Department - (Hampton Office)
3. Staff be authorized to arrange public meetings for the purpose of presenting
the draft Bowmanville Urban Area Plan to the public; and that
4. Staff be authorized to place a general notice in local papers, advising the
public of the location of displays and the time and dates of public meetings
and inviting public input.
4. O.M.B. Hearing - Schweizer
It was recommended to Council that Planning Staff be authorized to attend the
subject Ontario Municipal Board Hearing in support of By-law 79-106.
