TOWN OF NEWCASTLE
November 19, 1984
Minutes of a Special Meeting of 'Council
held on Monday, November 19, 1984, at
2:00 p.m., in Court Room #2.
Mayor Rickard called the meeting to order
and read the notice of the meeting to
the Members present:
"To review and consider nominations and select
recipients - 'Town of Newcastle' Citizen of
the Year Awards."
Present Were: Mayor G. B. Rickard
Councillor A. Cowman
Councillor D. Hamre
Councillor R. B. Taylor
Absent: Councillor I. Hobbs
Councillor M. Hubbard
Councillor E.R. Woodyard
Also Present: Chief Administrative Officer, D. Johnston
Town Clerk, D. Oakes
Resolution #C-722-84
Moved by Councillor Taylor, seconded by Councillor Hamre
THAT the selection of those to be recognized be done by
secret ballot in a form similar to that outlined in
the memorandum dated November 14th 1984, from
Councillor Cowman and directed to all Members of Council.
"CARRIED"
Resolution #C-723-84
Moved by Councillor Hamre, seconded by Councillor Taylor
THAT for the purpose of selecting the persons to be
named as recipients of the Citizen of the Year Award,
such persons must receive a majority of the votes
cast by the Members of Council present and voting.
"CARRIED"

been completed, that the meeting be adjourned at
