D - 6 Election Ballot New Town Hall D - 7 - 4 - March 11, 1985 Resolution #C-142-85 Moved by Councillor Hamre, seconded by Councillor Taylor THAT the communication dated February 18th 1985, from Frank Drea, M.P.P., Parliamentary Assistant to the Premier, announcing the Province of Ontario's intention to participate in International Youth Year (I.Y.Y.) and inviting all municipalities to join in the world wide salute to youth, be received; AND THAT the subject correspondence be referred to staff for review; AND FURTHER THAT staff contact the I.Y.Y. Co-ordination Unit and obtain further information relating to the promotion of International Youth Year. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-143-85 Moved by Councillor Cowman, seconded by Councillor Taylor THAT the communication (undated) from Mr. Jim Hook, President, The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, announcing that the 1985 "Pitch-In '85 Campaign" for parks and open space clean-up is scheduled for the week of May 6th to 12th 1985, and requesting that Council proclaim the week as "Pitch in '85" be received; AND THAT Council proclaim the week of May 6th to 12th 1985, as "Pitch in '85" week and advertised in accordance with Town Policy; AND FURTHER THAT the Council invite all of the residents of the municipality to participate in this very worthwhile project. Moved by Councillor Hubbard, seconded by Councillor Taylor THAT leave be granted to introduce the following by-laws, and that the said by~laws be now read a first time: 85-25 being a by-law to authorize the entering into of an Agreement with 542985 Ontario Limited and the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle; 85-26 being a by-law to authorize the entering into of an Agreement with Foster Creek Developments and the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle. Ullrich Rezoning . - 7 March 11, 1985 Resolution #C-155-85 Moved by Councillor Taylor, seconded by Councillor Hamre THAT the Clerk's Memorandum re Appointment of a Regional Representative on the Board of Directors of the Memorial Hospital Bowmanville be received and Council recommend Mayor Rickard as the Town's appointee. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-156-85 Moved by Councillor Hubbard, seconded by Councillor Taylor WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle through the 1985 budget precess reviewed the budget estimates of the Bowmanville and Clarke Museum Boards; and WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle is interested in supporting the Museums in terms of both their cultural and tourism promotional role and to this end have accepted the budget increases noted for 1985; and WHEREAS the municipality wishes to provide a cost efficient museum service to the Town: THEREFORE be it resolved that the Newcastle Community Services Planning Board be requested to examine the question of museum services within the Town with a view to establishing one Museum Board to co-ordinate the activities of museum services in the Town. This examination by the Newcastle Community Services Planning Board should involve both current Museum Boards and include such topics as the sharing of staff and the role of each facility. Once the Newcastle Community Services Planning Board has researched this matter, Council requests that a report be made to Council from the Board. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-157-85 Moved by Councillor Cowman, seconded by Councillor Hubbard AND RESOLVED THAT whereas the Council of the Town of Newcastle did by Resolution #C-624-84, approve Item #2 of the General Purpose and Administration Committee Chairman's Report of the meeting held on September 17, 1984, which item recommended denial of an application by Wilhelm Ullrich to rezone part of his lands for use as an abattoir; Counei I Minutes . . Eldorado Nuclear ~ - 8 - March 11, 1985 AND WHEREAS the Town of Newcastle has been served with "Notice of Appeal to Council's refusal to amend a zoning by-law" with respect to lands owned by Mr. Wilhelm Ullrich, R. R. 5, Bowmanville, Ontario, (Lot 11, Concession 5, former Township of Darlington) to permit the use of a portion of his lands for the establishment of an abattoir; AND WHEREAS the Ontario Municipal Board has appointed May 23rd and May 24th 1985, for the Hearing of all parties interested in supporting or opposing the application; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Town of Newcastle's Solicitor be requested to attend the Ontario Municipal Board Hearing in support of the Town's position with respect to the application by Mr. Wilhelm Ullrich for an Order directing that the Town of Newcastle enact a By-law rezoning part of his lands for the establishment of an abatto i r.
