Library Act . _ 8 _ January 14, 1985 Resolution #C-23-85 Moved by Councillor Hobbs, seconded by Councillor Hubbard WHEREAS the Town is incurring ongoing costs for the repair of bus shelters in Bowmanville damaged by vandals; BE IT RESOLVED THAT signs be placed in the said bus shelters offering a reward to individuals providing information leading to the conviction of parties responsible for such damage. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-24-85 Moved by Councillor Hobbs, seconded by Councillor Hubbard THAT the previous resolution be referred to staff for a review of the legal implications involved in such a program and that staffbring forward the appropriate documentation necessary to give effect to the resolution and authorize the offering of rewards to persons providing such information. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-25-85 Moved by Councillor Hamre, seconded by Councillor Taylor THAT an informal meeting be arranged between Council and the Library Board to discuss the contents of the new Library Act, and implications for the Board and Council contained in the new Act. "CARRIED" Mayor Rickard took this opportunity to review many of the events which occurred in 1984, and what was accomplished during the year. He offered his personal thanks to Council, staff and members of the community who helped make the year so successful. Mayor Rickard noted, that 1985 was a year filled with promise and suggested, that it would be a year that would see a great deal of activity in all areas of development. Plumbing Inspections Wi lmot Creek Mobile Home Park . - 9 - January 14, 1985 Resolution #C-27-85 Moved by Councillor Hubbard, seconded by Councillor Taylor THAT the meeting be "In Camera." "CARRIED" Resolution #C-28-85 Moved by Councillor Hobbs, seconded by Councillor Woodyard THAT the application for a Taxi Driver's Licence be referred back to Regional Police for further review and reconsideration; AND THAT a copy of the doctor's letter be forwarded to Regional Police, provided that the applicant and the doctor give their consent in writing to the release of the letter. "LOST" Resolution #C-29-85 Moved by Councillor Hamre, seconded by Councillor Cowman THAT the application for a Taxi Driver's Licence submitted by Leslie Casselman, under date of November 19, 1984, be approved; AND THAT the Clerk's Department through the By-law Enforcement Department, be authorized to issue the Taxi Driver's Licence to the applicant. "CARRIED" Mayor Rickard declared a Conflict of Interest in Confidential Report PD-12-85 in that a water line servIcing the subject lands also serves land owned by the Mayor's family. He refrained from discussion and voting. Councillor Hamre declared a Conflict of Interest in Confidential Report PD-12-85 in that a member of her family is employed by the developer.
