A special meeting of Council was held in the Town Hall,
February 25, 1959 at 7:30 P.M.
Councillor K. Nicks absent all others present.
Mayor W. Carruthers in the Chair.
By-Laws first and second Reading
1. Moved By Reeve W. Higgon,
Seconded by Deputy-Reeve J. Brough,
And resolved that the mover be granted le'lve to introduce a By-
Law to amend By-Law number 1696. And said By-Law be now read
a first and second time. carried.
2. Moved by Reeve W. Higgon,
Seconded by Deputy-Reeve J. Brough,
And resolved that the mover be granted leave to introduce a By-
Law to provide for certain exemptions for lands assessed in
parcels of not less than five acres, as provided in Section 35
of the Assessment Act Chapter 24, R. S. O. 35, 1950. And the
daid By-Law be now read a first and second time. carried.

And resolved that Council now rise and go into the Comffiittee of
the Whole for the consideration of two By-Laws~

The Mayor reported to Council that the By-Laws discussed
in the Committee of the Whole passed without amendments.
By-Laws third Reading
5. Moved by Reeve W. Higgon,
Seconded by Deputy-Reeve J. Brough,
And resolved that the By-Law to provide for certain exemptions
for lands assessed in parcels of not less than five acres, as
provided in Section 35 of The Assessment Act Chapter 24 R. S. O.
35, 1950. And the said By-Law be now read a third time finally
passed and numbered By-Law number 1715. carried.
6. Moved by Reeve W. Higgon,
Seconded by Deputy-Reeve J. Brough,
And resolved that the By-Law to amend By-Law 1696 be now read
a third time finally passed and numbered By-Law nucubef' 1716.
carried.

That this meeting be adjourned at 8:00 P.M.
