A regular meeting of the Bo.rmanville Town Council was held on
Monday, October 17th/60, at 8:00 p.m.
All members present. Mayor Carruthers in the Chair.
CORRESPONDENCE.
1. Canadian Legion - Permission for Poppy Day.
Moved by Con. Hughes,
Seconded by Con. Lathangue,
That permission be granted.

United Colour Studios, Toronto. - October 14/60.
"We are considering the desirability of opening a small portrait
studio in the Town of Bbwrnanville, and would be grateful for any
information you could give us regarding Business Taxes, licences
and general availabjlity of store frontage in the downtown area.
Any additional information you can let us have in connection with
local competition in the photography field would be very much
appreciated. Thanking you in anticipation of an early reply."

a check on the financial aspects of this Company.

The Oanadian Red Cross Society - October 16/60.
"On behalf of the Bowmanville & District Red Cross Branch, I
would like to request permission to place in front of the
Public Library, a sign board to advertise the coming Blood Donor
Clinic. This sign would need to be on display at least two days
previous to the clinic which ,iill be on \fednesday, November 2nd."

4. Bowrnanville Chamber of Commerce - October 17/60.
"The Directors of the BO\'lllIanville Chamber of Commerce believe
that now is a most fitting and opportune time to sponsor another
Industrial Luncheon. We suggest Tuesday, November 15th, as a
suitable date.
Such a luncheon would enable us to pay tribute to our existing
industries that contribute so much to our economic life, to
give official recognition to Goodyear on its 50th. anniversary,
and to express our pleasure in the reconstruction of the Bowrnan-
ville Foundry.

In addition ta entertaining the officers .of our industries,
we might also invite as .our guests the representatives .of
Industrial Development agencies such as the banks and rail-
ways, and tell them of our plans far the new industrial area
to-~ serviced for 1961. -

Con. Ken Nicks reported on the recent meeting of the Lake
Ontario Development Association held in Feterborough.
Sewers - Liberty Street.

Seconded by Con; Stevens,
That the necessary adjustments be done to the sanit-
ary sewers on Liberty Street, and this be an extra on the pav-
ing contract. carried.

Seconded by Con. Presson,
That the Dog Control Officer be advised that if the
owner or possessor of a dog sees the dog being picked up, he
may pay the fine at that time. carried.
