Mayor Rickard and Members of Council:-
The following is a report of the meeting of the Planning and Development
Committee held on March 2, 1981:
Policy for Fire Protection Standards in Estate Lot
and Rural Residential Developments
It was recommended to Council that:
1.
WHEREAS the Town of Newcastle wishes to ensure that all new estate lot
and rural residential subdivisions include adequate facilities for fire
protection:

BE IT NOW RESOLVED THEREFORE the Town of Newcastle hereby approves
By-law 81-30 adopting _ "Generalized Fire Protection Standards for
Estate Lot and Rural Residential Developments", and
WHEREAS said policy would apply to the design of subdivision 18T-24002
Oakland Developments Limited (Enniskillen);
BE IT NOW FURTHER RESOLVED that the Region of Durham is hereby requested
to design a water supply system for the above-noted subdivision and for
the Hamlet of Enniskillen in accordance with the previous request of
the Town of Newcastle and according to Regional Policy for the design
of "Small Water Systems".

Received for information
It was recommended to Council that the following be received for information:
(a) Correspondence from Intercity Tourism Ltd. relative to signs.
(b) Annual Building Report for 1980.
(c) Report P-46-81 re Financial Analysis and Development Strategy Study
for the Town of Newcastle.
(d) By-law 75-80 of the Township of Scugog (Comprehensive Restric~d Area By-law)
(e) Report P-48-81 re Courtice Environmental Impact Analysis (Gartner-Lee).
