A Special meeting of Bowmanville Town Council was held on
Tuesday, January 24th, at 7:00 p.m.~ in Town Hall, Bowmanville.
Councillors Lathangue and Presson absent.. All others present.
Mayor W. C. Carruthers in the Chair.
1. C. Pilkey, Mr, Smith, and Mr. McNeil presented a Brief from the
Union of Unemployed ,vorkers to the Council. (All members received
a copy) Copy attached to minutes which are to be adopted. ~
Hoved by Deputy-Heeve Hobbs,
Seconded by Con. Hughes,
That tentative approval be given this Brief and the members
who are not present receive a copy, for further study and be re-
ferred to Board of Works on January 31st. carried.

Moved by Con. Nicks,
Seconded by Reeve Little,
That the Tender of Dick King Excavating Ltd. in the ~lount
of $54,149;05 fur the construction of sanitary sewers on Liberty
and Third Streets be accepted. carried.

3. Moved by Deputy-Reeve Hobbs,
Seconded by Con. Stevens,
That The Corporation of the Town of Bowmanville apply to
Central Hortgage & Housing Corp. for a loan on proposed Liberty
Street sewer and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign the
application for loan. carried.

Sewage Treatment Plant.
1"11'. Butler, Mr. S. 0'Rafferty of Proctor &, Hedfern, Hr. George
VanBridger, and R. Stike of P.U,C,' addressed this meeting re-
garding the proposed new sewage treatment plant addition as to
what they have emitted from the previous tender call, financing
of saLle, term of Debentures, etc. The accepted total cost is
$450,000.00.

That the meeting adjourn at 9:45 p.m.
