THAT the recommendations in Report TR-83-55, be endorsed;
1. That this report be received; and
2. That Miller Paving Ltd., Unionville, Ontario, with a
total bid in the amount of $22,973.00, being the lowest
responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions and
specifications of Tender T83-20, be awarded the contract
to place cold mixed, open graded bituminous pavement
as required by the Town of Newcastle; and
and
3. That the funds expended be provided from the approved
Public Works Roads Maintenanceand Construction Budget.

That Robert E. Young Construction Ltd., Ennismore, Ont.,
with a total bid in the amount of $95,700.00 being the
lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions
and specifications of Tender T83-18, be awarded the
contract to provide Gravel Crushing and Hauling as
required by the Town of Newcastle; and
3. That the funds expended be provided from the approved
Public Works Roads Maintenance Construction Budget.

1. That this report be received; and
2. That Bennett Paving and Materials Ltd., Oshawa, Ontario,
with a total bid in the amount of $96,570.90, being
the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions
and specifications of Tender T83-19, be awarded the
contract to supply and place Hot Mix Asphalt as required
by the Town of Newcastle; and
3. That the funds expended be provided from the approved
Public Works Roads Maintenance and Construction Budget.

1. That this report be received; and
2. That The Canadian Salt Company Ltd., Mississauga, with
a unit price of $26.01/tonne (F.O.B. Oshawa Dock). being
the lowest responsible bidder meeting all terms, conditions
and specifications of Tender WD33-83, be awarded the
contract to supply bulk sodium chloride to the Town of
Newcastle, as required by the Department of Public
Works; and
3. That the funds be expended from the Public Works Winter
Maintenance Accounts as provided within the 1983 current
budget.

THAT the recommendations in Report TR-83-59, be endorsed; and
1. That this report be received; and
2. That GMC Truck Centre, Toronto, Ontario, with a total bid
in the amount of $21,438.00 being the lowest responsible
bidder of Tender T83-15, Section A be awarded the
contract to supply one 34 000 G.V.W. Cab and Chassis as
required by the Town of Newcastle Fire Dept.,; and
3. That Mobile Tank Industries (1981), Agincourt, Ont., with
a total bid in the amount of $22,959.00, being the lowest
responsible bidder of Tender T83-15, Section B, be awarded
the contract to supply and install one 1 500 Gal. Tank,
Compartments, Pump, Lines and Accessories as required
by the Town of Newcastle Fire Department; and
4. That the $40,000.00 be provided from the 1983 Fire Dept.
Capital Equipment Budget and $4,397.00 be provided from
the Vehicle Repair Account.

THAT the recommendations in Report TR-83-60, be endorsed; and
1. That this report be received; and
2. That Ellren Construction Ltd., being the lowest
responsible bidder, meeting all terms, conditions, and
specifications of Tender T83-16, be awarded the contract
to construct The Orono Fire Hall, as required by The
Town of Newcastle; and
3. That the recommendations contained within Totten Sims
Hubicki's letter dated August 18, 1983 (attached) as
restated below be approved, bringing the total contract
cost for Ellren Construction Ltd.'s bid to $309,025.00.

1983, and $150,000.00 in 1984; and .
4. That Tender T83-14 be forwarded to the Region of Durham
for its approval on Section 11 Watermains and Section 111
Sanitary Sewers.

83-113 being a by-law to authorize the execution of a
Contract with Clarkay Contracting Limited;
83-114 being a by-law to authorize the execution of an
Agreement between the Corporation of the Town of
Newcastle and Her Majesty The Queen, in right of the
Province of Ontario, represented by the Ministry of
Transportation and Communications;
83-115 being a by-law to appoint a Chief Administrative
Officer;
83-116 being a by-law imposing special annual drainage
rates upon land in respect of which money is borrowed
under the Tile Drainage Act, 1971.
