Council held on Thursday, AU9ust
18th 1983, at 10:10 a.m., in the
Senate Room, Bowmanville Public
Library, Temperance St., Bowmanville.
Roll Call
Present Were: Mayor G. B. Rickard
Councillor Cowman, until 11:00 a.m.
Councillor D. Hamre
Councillor I. Hobbs
Councillor M. Hubbard
Councillor R. B. Taylor
Councillor E. R. Woodyard

Also Present: Chief Administrative Officer, D. N. Smith

THAT Council convene in "Committee of the Whole."

THAT Council Resolution #C-580-83 passed at the Special
Council Meeting held on Wednesday, August 17th 1983,
"be rescinded."

Moved by Councillor Taylor, seconded by Councillor Woodyard
1. THAT the Mayor's Report dated August 17th 1983, with
respect to the Position of Chief Administrative Officer,
be recei ved "In Camera"; and
2. THAT Council proceed to immediately fill the position of
Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Newcastle; and
3. THAT Council offer the position of Chief Administrative Officer
to Candidate Number 51, in accordance with the following:
a) Duties to commence as soon as possible;
b) Salary to be at Step 2 of Level 18 ($43,977.00); and
4. THAT the necessary by-law be prepared for approval
by Council.
