Also Present: Chief Administrative Officer, D. N. Smith

THAT the Agenda as printed, be approved.

Moved by Councillor Cowman, seconded by Councillor Hobbs
THAT the position of Chief Administrative Officer, Town of
Newcastle, be offered to Mr. Donald N. Smith;
THAT the date of commencement be August 8th 1984;
THAT his term of employment be "at the pleasure of Council";
AND THAT the salary level be established at Step 2 of
Level 18 of the scale contained within the non-affilliated
employees salary chart.

THAT Council approve of the action taken in Committee.
His Worship Mayor Rickard invited Councillor Hubbard
to take the Chair in order that he might address members
of Council with respect to the approval of the action
taken in Committee.
His Worship Mayor Rickard resumed the Chair.
