Council held on Tuesday, May 17,
1983, at 2:30 p.m. in the Council

Councillor Diane Hamre
Councillor Ivan Hobbs
Councillor Marie Hubbard
Deputy Clerk, Gertrud e Gray
Also Present:
Councillor Keith Barr, due to illness
Counci 11 or Ann Cowman
Councillor R. Bruce Taylor
Chief Administrative Officer, Don Smith
Treasurer, K. Campbell
Absent:
The meeting was called to make adjustments in the tax levy
as a result of an error which has been transmitted to the
Treasurer by the Northumberland and Newcastle Board of
Education.

Resolution #C-353-83
Moved by Councillor Hubbard, seconded by Councillor Hobbs
THAT Council approve the purpose for which the meeting was
called.

Resolution #C-354-83
Rating By-law
Moved by Councillor Hamre, seconded by Councillor Hubbard
THAT the recommendation in Report TR-83-38(a) be endorsed and:
1. Report TR-83-38(a) be received.
2. The Rating By-law 83-70 be repealed.
3. The Rating By-law 83-74 be approved as presented.

Adopt the
Estimates
for 1983

Resolution #C-355-83
Moved by Councillor Hobbs, seconded by Councillor Hamre
THAT leave be granted to introduce by-law 83-74, being a
by-law to adopt the estimates of all sums required during
the year for Municipal Purposes and to strike the rates
of taxation for municipal purposes for the year 1983,
and the said by-law be now read a first time.

THAT the second reading of by-law 83-74 be approved.

Resolution #C-357-83
Moved by Councillor Hobbs, seconded by Councillor Hamre
THAT by-law 83-74 be read a third time and finally passed.
"CARRIED"

Moved by Councillor Hobbs, seconded by Councillor Hubbard
THAT the meeting adjourn at 2:45 p.m.
