"CARRIED" Council Minutes - 3 - February 14, 1983 Resolution #C-86-83 ~ Navy League of Canada Moved by Councillor Hubbard, seconded by Councillor Cowman THAT the correspondence from the Navy League of Canada, dated January 31, 1983, be received; and 1. April 25 to May 1, 1983, be proclaimed "Navy Week" in the Town of Newcastle, according to Town Policy; 2. Permission be granted for Sea Cadets to sell Navy League Tags throughout the Town April 29th and 30th; 3. Permission be granted to hold a Battle of the Atlantic Parade on Sunday, May 1st to the Bowmanville Cenotaph and back to the Legion Parking Lot; 4. The matter of traffic and parking and the use of the power supply be referred to staff, with power to act. Sampson, relative to discharge of firearms in the Area of the Forestry Station at Orono, be received and referred to staff for review and report to the General Purpose and Administration Committee on ways in which the Town can assist in the control of this hazardous practice in the Town of Newcastle. . "CARRIED" Resolution #C-89-83 Canadian Cancer Society Moved by Councillor Hubbard, seconded by Councillor Taylor THAT Council concur with the request of the Canadian Cancer Society to proclaim the month of April as "Cancer Month" in the Town of Newcastle, according to Town Policy, to raise the flag on April 2, 1983 at 12:00 noon, and to declare April 8th as Daffodil Day throughout the Town according to Town Policy. Chairman's Report THAT the week of February 20 - 26, 1983, be proclaimed "Buckle Up Baby Week" for the Canada Jaycettes, according to Town Policy. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-93-83 Moved by Councillor Cowman, seconded by Councillor Barr THAT the correspondence from the Tyrone Athletic Association dated January 24, 1983, re hours at arenas over the Christmas/New Year's Holidays be received and the Chief Administrative Officer draw up a response to these concerns and bring back to Commi ttee for approval. He stated that he had been in touch with the proponents of the other subdivision in Enniskillen, relative to water services. He asked that the matter be tabled until he and Mr. Jeffery of Oakland Developments, have had a chance to resolve the problems.
