asked Councillor Taylor to lead in prayer.

THAT Council concur with a request of the Canadian
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Durham Chapter, to hold a
Tag Day on Saturday Mayl4, 1983, and that the week of
May 9 - 14, be proclaimed Cystic Fibrosis Week,
according to Town Policy.

THAT leave be granted to introduce the following by-laws,
and the said by-laws now be read a first time:
83-1 being a by-law to authorize the entering into
of an amending agreement with G. Koutroumpelis
and B. Arhitektonidis;
83-2 being a by-law to stop-up and close and to
authorize the sale of all of Victoria Street, lying
between Blocks F and G and all that portion of an
unnamed street easterly adjacent to Block F, Victoria
Street and Block G, all according to C.G. Hanning's
Plan of the former Village of Orono;
83-3 being a by-law to authorize the borrowing of $150,000
for the Bowmanville Business Improvement Area Main
Street Revitalization Program;
83-4 being a by-law to authorize the borrowing of $38,450
for the Newcastle Business Improvement Area Main
Street Revitalization Program;

by-law to govern the proceedings of the Council of
the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle;

an Agreement with Her Majesty The Queen, in right
of the Province of Ontario as represented by the

THAT an additional $1,580 be allocated to the Town
Hall Renovation Project from the Administrative
Improvement Reserve Fund for the purpose of painting
the ceilings in the downstairs offices.

THAT leave be granted to introduce By-law No. 83-9,
being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of the Council
of the Town of Newcastle at this meeting held on Thursday,
December 23, 1982, at 9:30 a.m., in Court Room #2;
THAT leave be granted to introduce By-law No. 83-10,
being a by-law to confirm the proceedings of the Council
of the Town of Newcastle at this meeting held on the 10th
day of January 1983, and that the said by-laws be now
read a first time.
