TOWN OF NEWCASTLE June 7th 1982 Minutes of a regular Meeting of Council held on Monday, June 7th 1982, at 9:30 a.m., in Court Room #2 Present Were: Mayor G. B. Fanning Resolution #C-453-82 Moved by Councillor Prout, seconded by Councillor Hubbard THAT the minutes of a regular meeting of Council held on Tuesday, May 25th 1982, be approved as read. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-454-82 Moved by Councillor Woodyard, seconded by Councillor Taylor THAT the minutes of the Special meeting of Council held on May 31st 1982, be approved as read. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-455-82 Moved by Councillor Hubbard, seconded by Councillor Cowman THAT the delegations be heard. "CARRIED" Mr. T. Rehder addressed Council relative to the progress made in the Hollingshead Rezoning. He stated that he is in agreement with the recommendation in the revised report to be submitted by the Planner later in the meeting. Mr. Peter Adams, on behalf of C.C.L. Industries Inc., owners of the Hollingshead Plant, advised that the owners were willing to accept the wording in the by-law attached to PD-96-82, to be presented to Council later in the meeting. cou'ncil Mi nutes . Hooper, the Grant information requested in his letter of May 21, 1982, and the source of funding. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-459-82 Moved by Councillor Taylor, seconded by Councillor Woodyard THAT permission be granted to the Canadian Red Cross Society to display a banner four times a year, on the four corners of Bowmanville, King & Temperance Streets. Town of Gananoque Resolution Pentecostal Church Gospel Tent Crusade . - 3 - June 7th 1982 Resolution #C-460-82 Moved by Councillor Woodyard, seconded by Councillor Prout THAT the Canadian Red Cross Society be granted permission to display a banner promoting Blood Clinics, four times a year at the corner of Kin9 & Temperance Streets and the Society arrange for the installation of the banner through negotiation with the Newcastle Hydro Electric Commission. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-461-82 Moved by Councillor Prout, seconded by Councillor Hubbard THAT the resolution of the Corporation of the Town of Valley East, re Ministry of Education Subsidy to Non-Credit Courses, be received for information. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-462-82 Moved by Councillor Hamre, seconded by Councillor Taylor THAT the resolution of the Town of Gananoque re funding for education, be received and filed. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-463-82 Moved by Councillor Prout, seconded by Councillor Cowman THAT Council support the request of the Liberty Street Pentecostal Church to hold a 'Gospel Tent Crusade' in Bowmanville, July 11 - 18, and their correspondence of June 4, 1982, be forwarded to the Regional Works Committee for approval and the applicants be advised to acquire all other necessary approvals, including the Board of Health. Resolution #C-472-82 Moved by Councillor Taylor, seconded by Councillor Woodyard THAT Item 10 be referred and dealt with under Report #3. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-473-82 Moved by Councillor Hubbard, seconded by Councillor Prout THAT Item 19 be approved as corrected, by adding: "and advised that the project has not been awarded at this time due to difficulties in financing. "CARRIED" Councillor Prout reported that the Regional Works Committee had approved the request of the Newcastle Lions Club. Hollingshead Rezoning By-Laws . - 6 - June 7th 1982 Resolution #C-476-82 Moved by Councillor Taylor, seconded by Councillor Woodyard THAT the recommendations in Report PD-95-82 be approved, and 1. That this report be received; and 2. The By-law attached to Report PD-92-82 be revised, (as attached) to show a 1.25 metre side and rear yard requirement for accessory uses, and approved, as amended. 3. That upon approval of the By-law, the Clerk be directed to provide notice through publication. Meeting of Municipal, Provincial and Federa 1 Representatives . - 7 - June 7th 1982 82-77 being a by-law to raise money to aid in the construction of drainage works under the Tile Drainage Act 1971 (two readings only); 82-78 being a by-law to amend Restricted Area By-law Number 2111, as amended, of the former Township of Darl ington; 82-79 being a by-law to authorize the execution of Offers to Sell related to lands required for the reconstruction of Holt Road, between Highway 401 and Baseline Road; 82-80 being a by-law to amend Restricted Area by-law 1587, as amended, of the former Town of Bowmanville, now in the Town of Newcastle (Holl ingshead) and that the said by-laws now be read a first time.
