"CARRIED" Mr. Arnott Wotten Sr., addressed Council and asked "why was the position of Director of Public Works, Town of Newcastle, listing the responsibilities and qualifications necessary, advertised in the Toronto Globe & Mail and The Oshawa Times before the by-laws outlining these responsibilities and qualifications came into existence." That the Town re-tender the Courtice Storm Sewer project to possibly allow the construction of the storm sewer portion of the project in 1981-82 and the dam and pond portion of the project at such time . . . "CARRIED" Resolution #C-128-82 Moved by Councillor Hamre, seconded by Councillor Hubbard THAT the Clerk's Department notify in writing, all Community Centre and Arena Boards of their need to notify the Clerk in writing of their Executive Board Members for Council approval for the year 1982. That the position of Deputy Fire Chief be established by by-law at Salary Grade 13, Town of Newcastle Salary Administration Program; and 3. That Mr. James A. Aldridge be offered the position at Salary Grade 13, Step 4 ($26,400 per annum, 1981 salary rates); and . . . That the attached by-law be passed giving effect to the above. "CARRI ED" Resolution #C-137-82 Moved by Councillor Taylor, seconded by Councillor Woodyard THAT leave be granted to introduce the following by-laws: 82-12 being a by-law of the Corporation of the Town of Newcastle to establish the position of Deputy Fire Chief; 82-13 being a by-law to appoint a Deputy Fire Chief; 82-17 bein9 a by-law to appoint a Director of Plannin9; and that the said by-laws now be read a first time.
