Special Meeting Minutes THAT the minutes of a special meeting of Council dated September 18th, 1972, be approved as printed. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-634-72 Moved by Con. Bell, seconded by Con. Cobban. Committee of the Whole Minutes THAT the minutes of a meeting of the Committee of the Whole dated September 25th and 26th, 1972, be approved as printed. "CARRIED" Kinsmen's Octoberfest Mr. Jim Lawrence of the Kinsmen Club appeared in support of the Club's application to hold an Octoberfest in the Royal Theatre on the 13th and 14th of October. THAT permission be granted if the Club meets all requirements and receives proper licence from the Liquor Licence Board and also a copy of the Fire Chief's Report regarding fire protection requirements be made available to the Club. "CARRIED" . . . Buses on Parkway Crescent Minor Hockey Association West Beach Road Bowmanville Foundry Company Limited 6" Watermain - 2 - Mr. G. Murdoch, 62 Parkway Crescent appeared before Council regarding the continued parking of school buses on Parkway Crescent. THAT the Separate School Board be invited to attend a Special Meeting of Council along with the concerned parents in the area, and representatives from St. Joseph's Church to consider the problem and try to work out a solution. "CARRIED" Mr. Keith Shackelton invited members of Council and wives to attend the opening of the Minor Hockey Association at the Memorial Arena on Saturday, October 6th, 1972. Mr. Clarence Tinline requested Council that the West Beach Road as it curves east, be graded and leveled by the Town's Works Department. Resolution #C-637-72 Moved by Con. THAT the Clerk-Administrator investigate the ownership of the cottages on this road and ask the owners permission to carry out this work without holding the Town responsible for any possible damage and report to the next Council Meeting. And furthermore, that the Clerk-Administrator explore the feasibility of the Town acquiring the road allowance. "CARRIED" Mr. Tom Rehder of Bowmanville Foundry and Mr. Whittle representing Hollingshead Limited appeared in support of their letters requesting the installation of a 6" watermain from Scugog Street down Sturrock Road and then down to the C.P.R. siding to connect on to the 6" main in front of the Hollingshead Plant. THAT a committee of one consisting of Councillor Bell be appointed to poll members of Council to see how many are interested to attend the meeting of Durham County Club of Toronto on October 27th, 1972, and if enough people are interested to make the necessary arrangements for the evenings entertainment.
