THAT Council go on record as being opposed to the rate increases
as proposed in Bell Canada's letter of November 10th, 1972,
and that the Association of Municipalities of Ontario be so
advised.

WHEREAS the Corporation of the Town of Bowmanville has conveyed
certain lands lying immediately south of the Canadian National
Railway in Township Lot 10 in the Broken Front Concession to
Edwin George Lacey and Joseph John Cleary for the establishment
of industry;
AND WHEREAS there was included in the said conveyance that part
of Depot Street lying southerly of Blocks 21 and 22 as shown on
Short's Plan of Subdivision known as the Smart Estate;
AND WHEREAS the Town has agreed to close the said part of Depot
Street;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Town make application to
the County Court Judge under the provision of The Registry Act
to close the said part of Depot Street and that the Mayor and
Clerk be authorized to execute and sign all necessary documents in
connection therewith on behalf of the Town.

Manager of the Public Utilities Commission, contained in
his letter of November 20th, 1972, relative to improved
lighting on the Arena parking lot and that the lights be
installed as soon as possible.
