Mayor Rickard call the meeting to order and led in prayer.
All menbers were present with the exception of Councillor
Hearn who attended at 7:10 p.m.

of Commerce appeared before Council with the request
for a meeting between the Chamber of Commerce and
Council relative to the proposed enlarged shopping
facilities in the area of King Street East and Simpson

Mr. Kingsley Van Nest appeared before Council regarding

road allowance on Concession 3 and 4 in Ward 3.
Hr. Ven Nest asked that the encroachment be allowed for
the life time of the building rather than from year to
year at the discretion of Council.

1) That there is considerable apprehension in this community
about the proposal to establish a nuclear generating ntation
near Bovmanville.
2) That this Council can lend no support to the proposal
until Hydro and the Provincial Government have fully presented
the proposal, and its complete implications, to the public,
and until a referendum of the Town's citizens delOOnstrates
the public's acceptance of the proposal.
