Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council held
in Court Room #2 in Bowmanville, at 1 p.m. on
Monday, August 26, 1974.
All Members were present with the exception of
Councillor Wearn.
Resolution #C-74-962
Moved by Con. Hobbs, seconded by Con. Tink
THAT the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to
appoint Mr. Fred J. Smith of Pontypool as Manager of the
new Arena, at a Salary of $10,000. per annum, effective
September 15, 1974, be adopted and furthermore that the
other applicants be so advised.

Moved by Con. Hobbs, seconded by Con. Tink
THAT a Zamboni Machine with Snow Dump Attachment be purchased
at a cost of $16,728. plus Provincial Tax.

THAT Miss Susan Davies be appointed as Secretary in the
Recreation Office at a Salary of $4,650. per annum, effective
August 26, 1974.

Moved by Con. Hobbs, seconded by Con. Allin
THAT the action of the Personnel Committee in hiring Mrs. M.
Simpson to assist at the Hampton Office for a two week period
at the same hourly rate as she receives as Secretary of the
Committee of Adjustment, bE! approved.
Councillor Lyall opposed.
