Minutes of a regular meeting of Council held
in the Bowmanville Council Chamber at 7:00 p.rn.
on Monday, June 3rd, 1974.
Mayor Rickard called the meeting to order and led the
Council in prayer.
Roll Call All members of Council were present with
the exception of Councillor Entwisle.
Councillor Entwisle attended at 7:15 p.m.

Councillor Lyall presented a petition requesting
a crossing guard or sidewalk at Newcastle Public
School.

Committee to be studie d and a report submitted to
Council.

Mr. Assadoorian appeared before Council regarding his
problem with Moase Welding. As the reports requested
from Department Heads had not all been received, the
matter was referred to the next meeting.
Mr. Merrill Brown appeared before Council regarding
a swimming pool to be financed by the Kiwanis,
Kinsmen, Lions and Rotary Clubs. The intention is
to build an outdoor pool this year on municipal land
and investigate the prospect of constructing an indoor
pool complex within the next year.

RESOLVED THAT this Council authorizes the publication
of a Public Notice, regarding the destruction of
weeds under the provision of the Weed Control Act of
the Province of Ontario and directs the Regional
\,eed Inspectors to cause noxious weeds or weed seeds
to be destroyed in such a manner as they may deem proper
and that the expenses incurred by the said Weed
Inspectors in the discharge of their duties shall be
placed on the Collector's Roll of this municipality
against the respective parcels concerned and that
such amounts shall be collected in the same manner
as tc1Xes under The Municipal Act.
