Minutes of a Meeting of the Committee of the Whole held at 7:00 p.m. on March 26th, 1973, in the Committee Room at the Town Hall. Present: Mayor Reeve Deputy Reeve Councillor Ivan M. Hobbs James A. Bell Maurice Prout Lawrence C. Mason Donald W. Allin Norman Allison Paul Chant Mrs. Olive Cobban, Chairman Mrs. Leola F. Thrasher Also present were Chairman and Member of the Planning Board, Mr. A. M. Thompson, Mr. H. Hammond, Mr. Roy Woodward and Mr. Ron Hetherington. The Secretary Treasurer of the Planning Board Mr. H. Wight was also present. . Issue of Building Permi ts The Planning Board Chairman made a presentation to the Committee regarding the issuance of Building Permits in the area which has been designated in By-Law No. 72-31, but which has not yet been approved by the Municipal Board. There was considerable discussion on this matter among those present. Resolution #CW-43-73 Moved by Con. Allison, seconded by Mayor Hobbs. THAT a Committee of three be appointed to study the submission of the Planning Board and bring in a report for Council's consideration, and that no further action be taken on the issue of such permits until the report has been dealt with and that Mr. Kostrzewa be so advised. Additional Dressing Rooms for Arena THAT no action be taken on the report of the Director of Recreation dated March 21st, 1973, relative to proposed additional dressing rooms and equipment rooms at the Memorial Arena. . THAT no action be taken with regard to the Volunteer Firemen's request, dated March 1st, 1973, for increased renumeration. "CARRIED" Resolution #CW-46-73 Moved by Mayor Hobbs, seconded by Con. Allison. THAT the quotation of the Canadian Statesman for the printing of 200 copies of the Town's history in the amount of $689.15 plus Federal and Provincial Taxes be accepted and that the price be set at $3.50 per copy. "CARRIED" Resolution #CW-47-73 Moved by Con. Allison, seconded by Con. Chant. THAT the reports of the Town Engineer and Public Utilities Manager dated January 29th, 1973, and February 2nd, 1973, respectively be held in abeyance and presented for discussion to the next Committee of the Whole meeting. "CARRIED" Resolution #CW-48-73 Moved by Deputy Reeve Prout, seconded by Con. Mason. T~ Fred Brown be engaged as a full time inspector for the Engineering and Building Department in accordance with the recommendation of the Town Engineer and Building Inspector dated March 26th, 1973, at a salary to be recommended by the Clerk-Administrator. THAT the Town Engineer's and Building Inspector's Report dated March 26th, 1973, be concurred with and that Mrs. M. Kirkton be engaged as a Secretary for the Town Engineer and Building Inspector at a salary to be recommended by the Clerk-Administrator and reviewed at the end of six months from the date of employement. THAT the Clerk-Administrator write a letter to the Town Solicitor to prepare a deed for Mr. Kemp and Mrs. Wilson as soon as possible as there have been complaints about the delay.
