Mr. Strike made a presentation of Ian MacPherson Associates
Limited relative to Courtice Heights Developments Plan
for the Courtice Area. He requested Council to recommend
to the Regional Planning Department as follows:-
1. That Residential area be extended southerly to
coincide with the drainage area.
2. That the Community Centre be relocated to the Nash
Road, Trull's Road area.

presentation is not acceptable and that Map 2 is IlNch
closer to Council's thinking with the exclusion of the

December 15, 1975
Hr. Brian Howard and Mr. Robert Messervey of Central
Lake Ontario Conservation Authority made a presentation
regarding fill, construction and alterations to waterways
regulation. Mr. Howard indicated that he would like to
see better liaison between Government bodies with regard
to enforcement of the regulations.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the l1ayor is instructed to
direct a letter to I1r. Taylor, the Chairman of Hydro,
enclosing a certified copy of this Resolution, seeking their
support in the operation of the Liaison Committee, and an
undertaking that they will underwrite the cost through the
municipality of such expert advisors and spokesmen as the
Committee, ~1ith approval of Council, shall agree are necessary
to the work of the liaison committee.

its present lines it will be unacceptable to the T01~ of
Newcastle because the autonomy of the municipality will be
severely restricted, the process of free enterprise will be
severely interfered with and a major provincial impact on
this ounicipality appears accepted without consideration.

over the economic situation existing today in Ontario;
THEREFORE be it resolved that the Provincial Government
be requested to forth>1ith complete the passage of the
legislation regulating rents in the Province.

It was decided that Council would meet at 1:00 p.m. on
Monday, December 22nd to consider budget situation for
1975 and at 2:00 p.m. in camera to consider an Industrial
matter.
Committee of the 1~1ole and Finance Committee meetings
scheduled for December 22nd ;muld be cancelled and any
other meeting would be for emergencies only.
