Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council
held on Friday, August 8, 1975, at 10:30
a.m. in the Committee Room of the Bowmanville
Town Hall.

Moved by Con. Allin, secondea by Con. Hobbs
Tennis
Courts
Bowmanville
High School
THAT the tender of Harnden and King Construction Ltd.,
in the amount of $18,672. be accepted for the construction
of Tennis Courts at the Bowmanville High School and that the
Board of Education be advised immediately to proceed with
construction.

THAT the Chairman of the Community Services Committee
submit a further report on the financing and lighting
and maintenance of the Tennis Courts.

Moved by Con. Hobbs, seconded by Con. Allin
THAT the tenders for repairs to the roof of the Police
and Fire Building be opened.

Associates for a report and recommendations to the
next Council meeting.

Fire Services
Courtice Area
THAT the Community Services Committee be authorized
to meet with the Fire Protection and General Purpose
Committee of the City of Oshawa as soon as possible to
discuss possible fire protection in the Courtice Area.

Forum of
Hall Boards
etc.
THAT approximately Thanksgiving Day, a Forum be
organised to which will be invited representatives of
Hall Boards, representatives of Park Committees and
representatives of any other organised bodies that exist
in the municipality of Newcastle. The objective being
to generate better understanding, better government and
unification of the municipality of Newcastle between the
citizens, the elected representatives and their staff.
