Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council
held on Monday, July 28, 1975, at 2 p.m.
in the Committee Room of the Bowmanville
Town Hall.
All members were present with Mayor Rickard in the Chair.

4It Mayor Rickard and Members of Council:-
The following recommendations to Council were made at a meeting of the
Committee of the Whole held in the Bowmanville Committee Room on July 28, 1975:
1. That the letter ~ated July 17, 1975 from the Regional Planning and Development
Department be received and that it be recommended to Region that the appeal
against Mr. Rimmer's severance be withdrawn.
2. Ron Amyott application for Amendments
That Mr. Warren and the Town Solicitor be advised that the action taken
against Mr. Amyott be delayed pending Mr. Amyott's a~ication for Official
Plan and Zoning By-law amendments.
3. Land Separation - W. & M. Skuce
That the Regional Planning Department be advised that Council respects the
decision of the Land Division Committee.
4. Land Separation - Alan Banfield
That Council concur with the report dated July 25, 1975, from the Planner which
recommends that a Staff member attend the O.M.B. hearing in support of his comments
which were in opposition to the application.

5. Chiosolo Land Severance
That the Planner's report dated July 25, 1975, be concurred with relative
to Mr. Chiosolo's appeal against the Committee of Adjustment's decision and
that a member of the Planning Staff be authorised to attend the O.M.B. Hearing
in opposition to this appeal.
6. Gordon Baker Land Severance
That the decision of the Land Division Committee, relative to Gordon Baker be
respected and that no Town representative attend the Hearing.
7. Water Pipe for Cemetery
That the matter of laying a water pipe at the Cemetery to provide for the
watering of flowers by the Bowmanville Horticultural Society be referred to
the Public Works Committee with power to act and that the cost be paid out of
the "Civic" budget.
8. Industrial Commission
That the former resolution regarding composition of the Industrial Committee
be rescinded and that the Committee now consist of the Mayor, two Councillors
and the Town Clerk.

9. Industrial Commission
That Councillor Cowman and Councillor Hobbs be the Councillors on the
Industrial Committee.
10. That Merrill Brown's account for survey of the Conservation lands in the
Bowmanville Creek area be paid in the amount of $3,562. and the cost charged
as part of the selling price when C.L.O.C.A. takes over the land.

The following recommendations to Council were made at a meeting of the Finance
Committee held on July 28, 1975:
1. Newcastle Community Hall Board
That the letter dated July 10, 1975, from Mrs. Margaret Brereton, Secretary of
the Newcastle Community Hall Board, regarding monies received by Board Members
for various services, be received for information.
2. Bowmanville Chamber of Commerce Street Lighting
That the Bowmanvi1le Chamber of Commerce be advised that an amount of $1300.
has been placed in the budget for Christmas lighting and will be available
when needed.
3. Workmen's Compensation for Volunteer Firemen
That the maximum figure for Workmen's Compensation for Volunteer Firemen
be based on the figure of $15,000. per annum.
