Leighton of Leighton & Kidd re Generating Station TOWN OF NEWCASTLE May 20th, 1975 Minutes of a regular meeting of Council held in the Newcastle Community Hall on Tuesday, May 20th, 1975 at 1:00 p.m. Present: Mayor Councillor Garnet B. Rickard Donald If. Allin Mrs. Ann Cowman Kirk Entwisle Ivan M. Hobbs Kenneth E. Lyall H. Bruce Tink Mayor Rickard called the meeting to order and led in prayer. R. Spencer of Spencer Real Estate appeared before Council regarding a parcel of land in the former Village of Newcastle which he though Council might be interested in buying for parking. THl,T the matter be referred to the Finance Conunittee for study and report and that Mr. Spencer be asked to show hml the land might be laid out for parking purposes. "CARRIED" Mrs. Leavis appeared before Council asking for further information regarding Liberty Court, Bo,nnanville. Representatives of t~e Newcastle Chamber of Conunerce appeared before Council with the request that Council should consider alternate sites for the proposed new Fire Hall as the prcocnt site did not appear to have room for expansion.
