Mr. D. Barber appeared before Council relative to obtaining
permission for the Kiwanis Club of Bowmanville to hold a
circus at Memorial Park on May 15th, 1975.

THAT Council concur with Mr. Barber's request subject to
suitable guarantees being posted to protect the Town's
interests regarding insurance, restoration of park grounds,
etc., and furthermore that Mr. Barber work with the
Chairman of the Committee of the Whole to make the nccesscry
arrangements.

Mr. B. Kamin of Mosport Park appeared before Council relative
to the holding of musical shows at Mosport Park on Saturday
afternoon and evening on July 5th, 1975 and possibly August 8,
1975. Mr. Kamin stated that the attendance was estimated at
5,000 people.

Mr. Lionel E. Crotin, Solicitor for Hazel M. Miller Estate,
appeared before Council to request a quit claim deed with
reference to an encroachment of the Hazel M. Miller Estate
property on Emily Street, former Village of Newcastle.

THAT the Mayor and Clerk be authorised to sign a quit claim
deed after consulting with members of staff involved that
there would be no prejudice to the interests of the
lIlUnicipal i ty.

Mr. John Liptay Jr., 126 Martin Road South, addressed Council
with a request that the condition made by Council to mmte
road improvements on Maple Street before getting a building
permit to build on his lot, be removed. Mr. Liptay stated
also that until such time as the road is improved by the
Town he would not request winter maintenance.
NOTE: Action on Mr. Liptay's request was delayed pending
later consideration of the Public Works Committee Report.

The information, as follows, was noted in a memorandum from
J. Dunham, Director of Public Works, dated March 21, 1975.
"The cost of up-grading Maple Street, Haydon, is estimated
at $B,475.00. This estimate is based on a total of 565 feet
of road built to minimum standards at a cost of $15.00 per
lineal foot. This estimate does not include engineering fees
or the construction cost of a cul-de-sac."
