PIitz Delegation Applications for Cancellation Refund or Reduction of Taxes TOWN OF NEWCASTLE February 17th, 1975 Minutes of a regular meeting of Council held in the Community Hall at Newcastle on Monday, February 17th, 1975 at 1:00 p.m. Mayor Rickard called the meeting to order and led in prayer. Present were: Mayor Councillor Garnet B. Rickard Donald W. Allin Kirk Entwisle Ivan M. Hobbs Kenneth E. Lyall H. Bruce Tink A. D. Wearn Resolution #C-75-l93 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Entwisle. THAT the Council Minutes dated February 3rd, 1975, be approved as read. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-75-l94 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Entwisle. THAT the Minutes of a special Meeting of Council dated February 13th, 1975, be approved as read. "CARRIED" Mr. D. Plitz of Jack Jacobson appeared before Council with relation to the possible purchase of Burketon School House by the Municipality. Resolution #C-75-l95 Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Entwisle. THAT Mr. Plitz be advised that Council has no interest in the purchase of Burketon School House for municipal purposes. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-75-l96 Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Tink. THAT the list of Tax Cancellations, Reductions or Refunds dated February 3rd, 1975 as presented by the Treasurer be approved. "CARRIED" . ... . . . Robinson Disposition of Correspondence - 2 - February 17th, 1975 Councillor Lyall declared a conflict of interest in the foregoing matter and took no part in the discussion or voting. Resolution #C-75-l97 Moved by Con. Wearn, seconded by Con. Allin. THAT Mr. Shaw be heard by Council. "CARRIED" Mr. Shaw addressed Council regarding a letter which he had addressed to Mayor Rickard relative to Square 100 Development. Mayor Rickard indicated that he would reply to the letter.
