Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council held in the
Hampton Municipal Offices on Thursday, February 13th,
1975 at 4:00 p.m.
Mayor Rickard called the meeting to order.
Present were: Mayor Garnet B. Rickard
Councillor Donald W. Allin
Councillor Ivan M. Hobbs
Councillor Kenneth E. Lyall
Councillor H. Bruce Tink
Councillor A. D. Wearn
Town Clerk J. M. McIlroy
Absent: Councillor Kirk Entwisle

Moved by Con. Lyall, seconded by Con. Allin.
THAT the recommendation of the Community Services Committee
of January 6th, 1975 regarding twenty-four hours opening of
the Darlington Sports Centre, be rescinded.

THAT all Arenas under the jurisdiction of the Town of
Newcastle be closed on Sundays until 1:30 p.m. in
accordance with the wishes of the Ministerial Association.

THAT no recreation hockey or skating under the jurisdiction
of the Recreation Department of the Town of Newcastle be
scheduled until 1:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoons, but apart
from the foregoing the Arenas will be open seven days a
week and twenty-four .hours a day.

THAT Mr. Farrow be instructed to drill a second well and
link the two wells together to give increased pressure.

It was noted that CounCillor Hobbs made a motion to go into
open session, but there was no seconder to the motion

THAT the Mayor and Clerk be authorised to make an offer of
$31,000 for the property located at the South East corner
of old Scugog Road and Ormiston Street for road widening
purposes and thar the offer should be for acceptance
within forty-eight hours.
