Special Council Meeting
May 16, 1978
Minutes of a Special Heeting of Council held on
Tuesday, May 16, 1978 at 3 p.m. in the Committee
Room of the Bell Building.

Councillor R. Bruce Taylor
Councillor E. R. Woodyard

Also Present:
A. Guiler, Town Manager
Absent:
Councillor D. W. Allin
Mayor Rickard explained that the Special Meeting of Council
had been called for the purpose of dealing with By-Law 78-40.
All Yembers of Council had been polled and there had been no
objections.

Moved by Con. Taylor, seconded by Councillor Gray
By-Law
78-40
THAT leave be granted to introduce By-Law 78-40, being a by-
law to amend By-law 76-30, being a by-law to provide for
the regulating of parking and stopping on Highways or parts
of highways under the jurisdiction of the Corporation of the
Town of Newcastle and that it be now read a first time.

THAT Rule 33 be suspended for the balance of the meeting.

THAT by-law 78-40 be now read a third time and finally
passed.

Moved by Co.. Holliday, seconded by Con. Taylor
THAT the by-law be circulated to the owners of abutting
property and to the owners of Mosport Park.

The Mayor announced a Special Meeting of Council to be held
on Tuesday, May 30, 1978, at 9 a.m. in the Committee Room
of the Bell Building for the purpose of discussing the
concerns raised in the Memorandum from Councillor R. Dykstra
dated May 8, 1978, regarding the installation of Hard
Services in the To,vn of Newcastle.
