Lowes re Eldorado Mrs. Payne re Eldorado Recess Conunittee of the Whole - 6 - May 8th, 1978 Mr. James jjrown asked that his request for temporary access to his cottage on West Beach Road be reconsidered as he wished to use the Town owned lot for access during repair work. "CARRIED" Mr. Dakin of tlle Canadian Order of Foresters appeared before Council regarding their application for rezoning to construct Senior Citizens apartments and requested that Council proceed as soon as possible with their application. Mr. Joe Schwarz appeared before Council with the same request. ,tr. John Veldhuis appeared before Council with regard to the draft letter has per Resolution #C-78-622 (Eldorado). Mr. Veldhuis requested Council to uphold the findings of the Environmental Assessment Panel and table the letter pending the report to the Minister. Mr. Doug Humphreys of Port Granby also appeared before Council and asked Council to reconsider the letter. Mr. Warren Lowes appeared before Council in opposition to the Port Granby refenery and dump. He said that experts had indicated the refinery would cause contamination in the area. Mrs. Payne of Port Granby also spoke on the Eldorado matter and wondered what effect the contamination would have on the milk and cows in the area. Resolution #C-78-653 Moved by Con.
