Minutes of a special meeting of Council held in Court
Room No.2, Police and Fire Building on Monday,
March 20th, 1978 at 3:00 p.m.

Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Taylor.
THAT this meeting be only for the purpose of approving the
Public Works Budget and also the appointment to Boards and
Committees.

The following appointments were made to the various Boards
and Committees:-
Museum Board Mr. A. Thompson reappointed for the years 1978,
1979 and 1980.
Mr. Orville Osborne reappointed for the years 1978, 1979 and
1980.
Library Board Mrs. Pat Best reappointed for the years 1978,
1979 and 1980.
Mr. W. Montgomery of Box 402, Newcastle was appointed to the
Library Board in place of Mrs. P. Schmeigalo who has resigned.
The term to be for 1978 and 1979.
Con~ittee of Adjustment Mr. Tom Rehder reappointed for the
years 1978, 1979 and 1980.
Mrs. Madeline Williams reappointed for the years 1978, 1979
and 1980.
Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee - Mrs. Pat
McKay reappointed for the years 1978, 1979 and 1980.
Mrs. Maureen Remington appointed for the years 1978, 1979 and
1980.
Newcastle Community Hall Board Mr. Brenton Rickard reappointed
for 1978.
Mr. F. Couch reappointed for year 1978.
NOTE: The appointment for lady member was left in abeyance
pending the new Board taking up its duties.
Mayor Rickard and Councillor Gray were appointed as Council's
representatives on the Newcastle Community Hall Board.
The appointments to the Community Centres Boards were confirmed
as follows:-
Base Line Alvin Metcalf, Fred Wright, Jack Morton, Don Metcalf
Neil Brownell.
Brownsdale Tom Simpson, Phil Hayman, Mary Ann Innis, Gladys Hayman,
Matt Julicher,
Darlington Community Hall Wesley Yellowlees, T .M. Chant,
Bruce Montgomery, Orville Ashton, Gordon Beech.
Haydon John Potts, Alfred Garrard, Wilber Blackburn, Blanche Jones,
Eileen Blackburn.
Orono Community Hall Fred Graham, Gordon Watson, Betty Major,
Gladys Gamsby, Lenard Pears.
Solina Dorothy Pascoe, Cecil Gibson, Franchis Wotten, George Knox,
Jim Kaptyn.
