Minutes of a regular meeting of Council held in
Court Room No.2, Police and Fire Building, Bawmanville,
on Monday, December 13th, 1976 at 1:00 p.m.
Mayor Rickard called the meeting to order and lead in the
Lord's Prayer.

Citizens requesting that Ccuncil give some consideration for
a Recreation Centre for the use of Senior Citizens.

Mr. Roy was assured that the Zoning of his property, which is
Commercial, would not change without the proper proceedure,
whereby the owner and adjacent owners would be notified of
any proposed change.

Mr. Strike addressed Council regarding his negotiations with
Solicitors for the Schwarz Brothers.

THAT the matter be tabled to the second meeting of the new
Council in January and that the parties be notified.

Mr. R. Amyotte appeared before Council and paid tribute to
the retired members of Council and also to the unsuccessful
candidates.
Mr. Amyotte also paid special tribute to Councillor Hobbs
for his services in the past to the Town of Bowmanville and
Town of Newcastle and presented an etching of the Town of
Bowmanville and also a bouquet of flowers for Mrs. Hobbs.
Mrs. R. Lilley said a few words regarding Councils services.
