Mayor Rickard assumed the Chair at this time 8: 25 p.m.
Mr. Lovekin addressed Council regarding the proposed
Senior Citizen home and said that a problem had arisen
with regard to a road allowance and wished to refer
the matter to the next meeting.

water tot'lOr despite warninss that there are weak spots that
are being ignored;
THEREFORE be it resolved that this Council requests an
Engineer I s report from the 'lorks Department of the Re(lion of
Durhrun that the water tank is safe to paint prior to any more
work going forward on the structure and refer to Regional
Works Department for response..

Notice of Motion by Councillor Lyall.
WHEREAS the Veltri Construction project on King Street East at
the Castle Ho'i:el ':las ended the usefullness of this point as a
bus stop fa:.: Charter::ays Company Limited;
WHEREAS c,,::'d "dnte:: weather will be upon us soon;
Io/HEREAS there have been many complaints of buses running late
as to time scb.edule;
THEREFORE f.E IT RESOLVED that this Council of the To;m of
Newcastle request the Ontario Higlmay Transport Board,
E.J. Shonikor Chairman, that the Board require Chartenrays
Company Limited to provide a proper bus depot with all needed
facilities to handle the public in Bowmanville and that proper
supervision be provided forthwith to ensure that the bus
service pro'fided by Chartenlays runs according to schedule.

WHEREAS thc-:e is a study underway in the Region of Durham
relative tc the disposal of garbage in the Region;
WHERE/IS Cartwright and Scott Tmmship garbage and rubbish under
a transfer system is being placed in the Newcastle Darlington
landfill area by unilateral action of the Region of Durham
Council ;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Town of
Newcastle that the dumping of all non Town of Newcastle garbage
in the Darl~ngton landfill site be halted until the Town of
Newcastle has been afforded imput into the current James F.
M"cLaren Limited solid "Iaste management study objecting to the
Darlington landfill site being designated as the receiving point
of all garbage from the Region of Durham.
