}~. Veltri appeared before Council regarding certain problems
which appeared to have arisen \'lith regard to the issuance of
a building permit.

THl,T a Building Permit be issued to Mr. Veltri subject to
agreement between Mr. Hight, l.~. Veltri and Mr. Veltri's
Architect.

Resolution #C-76-995
Moved by Con. Hobbs, seconded by Con. Cowman.
THAT copies of the Inspection Reports on the Bowmanville
and Newcastle Arenas as presented by Totten, Sims &
Hubicki be sent to the }~nistry of Labour.

Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Lyall.
THAT Council concur '1ith the recommendation of Totten, Sims
& Hubicki dated September lath regarding the tendering for
structural repairs to the Bowmanville Arena at an estimated
cost of $45,000 and that Advanced Industrial Building be added
to the list of invited Contractors.

THAT the foregoing Resolution be held in abeyance pending
the Mayor explaining the possible grant formulas relative
to the Newcastle Arena.

THAT the necessary action be taken to keep the Newcastle Arena
open this season and tha~ the specifications be prepared by
Totten, Sims & Hubicki for tendering and that tenders be
invited in the same manner as the Bowmanville Arena
and that the citizens be advised of the financing in the local
newspc.per.

THAT ~n APplication of Intent to npply for a Community Centres
Grant be forwarded to the Ministry of Culture and Recreation
for the construction of two Tennis Courts at Lord Elgin School
at an estimated cost of $9,000,00.

THAT the Board of Education be requested to proceed with the
construction of the tHO tennis courts at Lord Elgin School at
an estimated cost of $9,000, subject to the approval of the
Connnunity Centre Grant, a Wintario Grant, and a contribution
of $2,500 from the Bo'~nnville Badminton Club.
