Present were: Mayor Councillor Garnet B. Rickard Donald W. Allin Ann Cowman - at 1:15 p.rn. Kirk Entwisle Ivan M. Hobbs Kenneth E. Lyall - until 5:25 p.rn. H. Bruce Tink - until 5:00 p.rn. THAT the Tyrone Connnunity Hall Board be congratulated for their magnificent effort in constructing the new hall at no cost to the tax payers. "CARRIED" Mr. & lira. Frank Glasbergen appeared before Council and presented a scroll from the Town of Rynsburg in the Netherlands which had just celebrated its 1,000 Anniversary. Mr. &.Mrs. Glasbergen also passed on greetings from the Mayor of the Dutch Town. Mr. Reid appeared before Council regarding hls proposal to construct a miniature golf course and driving range and requested that Council give his project special consideration. WHEREAS Glanville's Variety Store in the former Village of Newcastle which is owned by Fred Glanville is experiencing considerable pressure from a chain store and wants to instal a lunch counter in his premises to increase the revenue from the store; AND WHEREAS for some unknown reason, when the Planners Totten, Sims & Hubicki were zoning the former Village they placed a C-I zone on the Glanville property which only allows a convenience store- nothing else and this is the only C-l zoning in the former Village, THEREFORE be it resolved that this Council instruct the Planner to provide a by-law to amend Zoning By-Law No. 73-15 from C-l to C-3 to allow an eating establishment in the Glanville Variety Store site on King Street East.
