February 2nd. 1976
Minutes of a regular meeting of Council held in the
Bowmanville Council Chambers on Monday, February 2nd,
1976 at 7:00 p.m.

Mayor Rickard called the meeting to order and lead in the
Lord's Prayer.

THAT the Council Minutes dated January 19th, 1976, be
approved as read.

of meeting held on January 19th, 1976, be adopted as

THAT the foregoing report be amended by tabling Item 19
regarding Animal Control truck pending a report from the
Community Services Committee.

Mr. Reid addressed Council regarding building permit for
his proposed driving range, etc., snd assured Council
that he had received permission from Mr. Warren.

THAT Council concur with Mr. McNeely's letter in as much
as he states that the by-law is clear and that the term
"golf course" is expressly defined to exclude driving
ranges and miniature golf courses and such use would not
be permitted in an Agricultural area.

Mr. A. Strike addressed Council with regard to Mr. Lodge's
application for a building permit as Mr. Lodge would like
to retain the present farm house for six months after the
completion date of his new house.

THAT Council concur with Mr. Lodge's request and that the
necessary Agreement be drawn up to permit what is required
and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign the said
Agreement.

January 9th, 1976 regarding appointment of Mr. B. Lush to
the Newcastle Public Library Board, b! received for information.
4. Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority dated January 16th,
1976 regarding letter of appreciation for support and
co-operation shown during the year 1975, be received for
information.
5. Ontario Municipal Board dated January 15th, 1976 regarding
decision of an appeal by the Town of Whitby from a report of
the Arbitrators with respect to the former County Court
House, be received for information.
6. Ontario Municipal Board dated January 18th, 1976 regarding
decision of an appeal by Josip Tomina from a decision of the
Land Division Committee, be received for information with
a copy to the Town Planner.
7. Ontario Municipal Board dated January 18th, 1976 regarding
decision of an appeal by Albert Swain and Mary M. Swain from
a decision of the Land Division Committee, be received for
information with a copy to the Town Planner.
8. Ontario Municipal Board dated January 15th, 1976 regarding
decision of an appeal by Leo F. Kelly and Nancy Kelly from a
decision of the Conmittee of Adjustment, be received for
information with a copy to the Chief Building Inspector.
9. The Regional Municipality of Durham dated January 19th, 1976
regarding Official Plan Amendment Application #45 for Durham
Estates, be received for information with copy to Planner.
10. The Regional Municipality of Durham - Clerk's Department dated
January 19th, 1976 regarding Solid Waste Disposal Rate, be

of Public Works.

January 12th, 1976 regarding appointment of Mr. S.T. Worden as

THAT the Region be advised that it is preposterous to expect
this Council to make comments in detail in answer to their
letter dated 23rd of January, 1976 and request that the deadline
be extended one month and that the Regional Works Committee be
requested to attend a meeting of Council to explain this program
and that this meeting be arranged by the Mayor.
