THAT the Council Minutes dated January 5th, 1976 be approved as read. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-76-55 Moved by Con. Cowman, seconded by Con. Entwisle. THAT the CoIIInunity Services Coumittee Chairman's Report of meeting held on January 5th, 1976 be adopted as amended. "CARRIED" Resolution #<:-76-56 Moved by Con. Hobbs, seconded by Con. Entwisle. THAT the foregoing Report be amended to provide that the hours to work at the Animal Pound as stated therein will continue until. March 31st, 1976 and will be reviewed at that time. Hobbs, seconded by Con. Entwisle. THAT the Building Progress Report for the Month of December, 1975 be received for information. "CARRIED" Councillor Co~nnan made a verbal report regarding the renovations for the Newcastle Fire Hall. She indicated that the cost would be $30,867 for the renovations of the Hall excluding the apartment. Resolution #C-76-70 Moved by Con. Cowman, seconded by Con. Lyall. THAT the petition from Mr. Reg Wi11atts and sixty-five other taxpayero be referred to the Planning Advisory Conmittee for a report and that the parties be advised when it comes before the Planning Advisory Committee. THAT no further action be taken with regard to this subdiVision until a report comes back from the Planning Advioory Co~ittee. "CARRIED" Hr. R.G. Stephenson appeared before Council regarding the condition that he spend an estimated $5,000.00 to repair the Base Line Road with regard to the development of his Salvage Yard. Council Minutes Messrs Ernest and Gordon Reid re Driving Range, etc. Milani & Milani re Bowmanvill e West Communi ty Mr. Verbeek re Boating Launching Ramp - 6 - January 19th, 1976 Mr. Ernest Reid and Mr. Gordon Reid appeared before Council regarding the Zoning of land to permit a driving range and minature golf course at Maple Grove Road south of Highway 2. Resolution #C-76-77 Moved by Con. Ent3/isle, seconded by Con. Allin. THAT Mr. Wight report to the next Committee of the Whole and be present to discuss the matter. "CARRIED" Mr. Carn Milani made a presentation to Council regarding housing and industrial proposals for the Bowmanville West Community and indicated that he was prepared to grant the municipality the sum of three million dollars over and above any levies required. THAT Council consider the offer and meet within ten days to further discuss the matter with Mr. Milani and that the said meeting to be at the next meeting of the Committee of the tlhole. "CAR..'<IED" Mr. G. Verbeek appeared before Council regarding a small boat launching ramp which had been demolished with the reconstruction of the harbour entrance in the Village of Newcastle. Council Minutes Federation of Agriculture Agreement Between Mr. Beaucage and the Long Saul t Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club Darlington Generating Station Recess - 7 - January 19th, 1~76 Mr. Welsh and Mr. Brown of the Federation of Agriculture appeared before Council regarding Discussion Paper No. 4 of the Durham Region Official Plan and requested that the Federation meet with Council. THAT Council meet with the Federation of Agriculture at the :.gricul ture office in Bowmanville on Wednesday, the 2Bth of January at 7:30 p.m. "CARRIED" Mr. A. Alan H. Strike appeared before Council regarding Item No. 1 of the Public Works Committee Report and more particularly concerning the Agreement between Mr. Beaucage and the Long Sault Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club. Mr. Strike indicated that he \1Ould consult further with the Club Officials and communicate further with Council. Mr. Leighton of Leighton and Kidd appeared before Council regarding Correspondence No. 5 being a letter from the Chairman of Ontario Hydro regarding the proposed Generating Station. THAT the Town Solicitor be requested to submit a report on the legal position of the TO\Tn with regard to the proposed Darlington Generating Station vis a viS Ontario Hydro and Government of Ontario, and also that letters be written to the "Tani: Energy Control Board, Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Environment to determine if there will be public hearings held regarding the plant and to ascertain the form of the hecrings. THAT the Director of Public Works check out the situation at Port Granby to see if Eldorado Nuclear is dumping materials from Port Hope and report to the next Committee of the IVhole.
