Present were.: Mayor Councillor Garnet B. Rickard Donald W. Allin Robert Dykstra Alfred Gray R. Bruce Taylor Edward R. Woodyard Jasper W. Holliday - Due to Illness Absent: Councillor Mayor Rickard welcomed the Town Manager who was beginning his duties as of todays date. Resolution #C-77-l475 (a) Moved by Con. Taylor, seconded by Con. Gray. THAT the letter dated September 13th, 1977 from Mr. Alex Ross, Archivist, Archives of Ontario, regarding inactive records be received for information. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-77-l476 (a) Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Woodyard. THAT Council concur with the application of Robert and Grace Peacock to continue living in present home while constructing new home, but that the maximum period be for six months, and that this be subject to a suitable agreement being adhered to. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-77-l477 (a) Moved by Con. Gray, seconded by Con. Taylor. THAT the letter dated October 6th, 1977 from Keith D. Barr regarding additions to the Hampton Works Building be received for information and that Mr. Barr be advised of the arrangements for financing the project. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-77-l478 (a) Moved by Con. Woodyard, seconded by Con. Dykstra. THAT the letter dated October 12th, 1977 from Mr. Dennis Sadler regarding Hampton Works Building extension be received for information and that Mr. Sadler be advised of the arrangements for financing the project. THAT the letter dated October 7th, 1977 from R.B. Rickard Plumbing and Heating Limited regarding water and sewer bills be referred to the Finance Committee. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-77-l48l ea) Moved by Con. Taylor, seconded by Con. Allin. THAT the letter dated October 13th, 1977 from Mr. David J.D. Sims regarding the Orono Arena be received for information. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-77-1482 ea) Moved by Con. Taylor, seconded by Con. Gray. THAT the letter dated October 18th, 1977 from E.R. Lovekin regarding conveyance of the Lycett lands for the Orono Arena be received for information. Resolution #C-77-l483 ea) Moved by Con. Woodyard, seconded by Con. Dykstra. THAT the foregoing Resolution be amended to provide that the letter be referred back to the Personnel and Property Committee for clarification of title. "CARRIED" . . . THAT the letter dated October 12th, 1977 from Home Smith Properties regarding Lots 21, Blocks A, E and F, Plan 693, in Orono be referred to the Planning Administration Committee. Resolution #C-77-l485 (a) Moved by Con. Dykstra, secon1ed by Con. Woodyard. THAT the foregoing Resolution be tabled to be d~alt with at the end of the meeting under New and Unfinished Business. Taylor, seconded by Con. Allin. THAT the Notice from the Township of Scugog regarding their By-Law No. 47-77 be received for information and no objection made. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-77-1491 ea) Moved by Con. Taylor, seconded by Con. Gray. THAT Council endorse the Resolution dated October 12th, 1977 from the Town of Dundas regarding inefficient Postal Service. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-77-1492 ea) Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Dykstra. THAT the Notice of Application to the Ontario Municipal Board from the City of Oshawa regarding By-Law No. 113-77 be received for information and no objection made. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-77-1493 ea) Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Woodyard. Tlli\T Council approve of the request from the Junior C Hockey Club dated October 27th, 1977 regarding a Lottery Licence. "CARRIED" Resolution #C-77-l494 ea) Moved by Con. Dykstra, seconded by Con. Gray. THAT the letter dated October 13th, 1977 from the International Joint Commission be received for information. "CARRIED AS AMENDED" Resolution #C-77-l495 (a) Moved by Con. Taylor, seconded by Con. Woodyard. THAT the foregoing Resolution be amended and the Joint Commission be asked to forward certain literature for Councils information. "CARRIED" . . . Orono Arena Building Liaison Committee THAT the following representatives be nominated to the Orono Arena Building Liaison Committee :_ For Fair Board - Jim Rickard - Alternative - George Carson For Athletic Association - Russ Majer - Alternative - Mike Sawyer AND THAT Mr. Majer be nominated Chairman.
