"CARRIED" Mr. Lloyd McRobbie appeared before Council and presented a frame portrait of Mayor Rickard, the first Mayor of the Town of Newcastle. THAT the matter be referred to the Legislation and By-Laws Committee and that Mr. Lyons appear before the Committee at . the next meeting and that the Chief Building Inspector asked to be present at 9:00 a.m. "CARRIED" Mr. Pesarchuk advised Council of a Manpower and Immigration Office to be opened on Silver Street, Bowmanville, with regard to student employment and requested permission to locate a banner on King Street for the Month of June, 1977. Mr. Bobier addressed Council and submitted a written brief which will be circulated to Council. Mr. Ed. Nolton also addressed Council regarding the Courtice Developments. Mr. Del Moore addressed Council on behalf of the Newcastle Village & District Arena Building Committee and reeommended to Council that Meritway Buildings Limited be engaged to prepare the preliminary drawings to take the new Arena to tender at a 1% fee based on construction budeet costs.
