HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/11/1977 (Special) . . tit Council Minutes Roll Call Court ice Heights Development TOWN OF NEWCASTLE March 11th, 1977 Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council held in the Bowmanville Committee Room on Friday, March 11th, 1977 at 3:30 p.m. Present were: Mayor Councillor Garnet B. Rickard Donald W. Allin Robert Dykstra Alfred Gray Jasper W. Holliday R. Bruce Taylor Edward R. Woodyard Mrs. Cowman oxpressed her concern to Council relative to the Developments effect on the wells of the existing residents and that she had hoped that Council would have put something on record about trees. Mayor Rickard assured Mrs. Cowman that Council was well aware of this matter and would do its best, with regard to these concerns. Resolution #C-77-335 Moved by Con. Dykstra, seconded by Con. Gray. THAT the Planning Administration Committee recmmends to Council that Council pass the necessary By-laws to authorize the development to proceed on the lands, subject to application in accordance with the Draft Plans of Subdivisions Numbers 18T76027 and 18T76048 as approved by this Committee. THAT it is hereby recommended to Council that the Draft Plan of Subdivision No. 18T76027 as amended by the Red Line Revisions as presented to Planning Administration Committee as of todays date be recommended to the Minister of Housing for approval, subject to a Subdivision Agreement, satisfactory to the Town, being entered into between the Town and Developer. THAT it is hereby recommended to Council that the Draft Plan of Subdivision No. l8T76048 as amended by the Red Line Revisions as presented to Planning Administration Committee as of todays date be recommended to the Minister of Housing for approval, subject to a Subdivision Agreement, satisfactory to the Town, being entered into between the Town and Developer. THAT the Ontario Municipal Board be requested to approve of the construction of storm drainage facilities in the Court ice Area of the Town of Newcastle, at an estimated cost of $350,000 and the borrowing of money therefor and the issuance of necessary debentures, and furthermore that the Regional Municipality of Durham be requested to approve of the additional quota for 1977 in the amount of $350,000.00. THAT leave be granted to introduce By-Law No. 77-10, being a by-law to authorize the Town to b~rrow and to execute a loan agreement with Her Majesty the Queen in the Right of the Province of Ontario, as represented by the Minister of Housing of the Province of Ontario for the provision of storm drainage in the area of Courtice, and that the said by-law be now read a first time. THAT leave be granted to introduce By-Law No. 77-11, being a by-law to authorize the Town to enter into an agreement with Her Majesty the Queen in Right of Ontario as represented by the Minister of Housing for the Province of Ontario. THAT leave be granted to introduce By-Law No. 77-12 being a by-law to amend former Township of Darlington BY-Law No. 2111 (as amended), and that the said by-law be now read a first time.
