February 28th, 1977
Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council held in
Court Room No. 2 in the Police & Fire Building on
Monday, February 28th, 1977 at 3:15 p.m.
Mayor Rickard called the meeting to order and lead in the
Lord's Prayer.
Present were:

Moved by Con. Allin, seconded by Con. Woodyard.
THAT the letter from Miss M.A. Jeffery, Secretary-Treasurer
of the Bowmanville Museum Committee be received and the
appointment to the Museum Committee of Mrs. J. Perkins be
approved.

Moved by Con. Dykstra, seconded by Con. Holliday.
THAT the letter dated February 14th, 1977 from James F. MacLaren
Limited regarding meeting on March 2nd, 1977 at the Greenwood
Towers in the Confederation Room at 7:30 p.m. relative to the
Wesleyville Community Impact Study be received and at least two
members of Council attend the meeting.

Mayor Rickard, Councillor Holliday and Councillor Gray are
expected to attend.

THAT the letter dated February 11th, 1977 from Ministry of
Agriculture and Food regarding schools on farm building. be
received for information.

THAT the letter dated February 18th, 1977 from Greenspan and
Vaughan regarding the proposed Darlington Generating Station be
received and the draft By-law amending the Darlington Zoning
By~law be held in abeyance until the next meeting.

THAT the letter dated February 18th, 1977 from Fletcher, McKay
and Mack be received and a reply sent giving the Regional
Official Plan designation and also the present Zoning as per
the Township of Clarke Zoning By-law.

THAT the Clerk be authorized to get the information from the

TPAT the Notice of Application for Approval to Expropriate--
land with regard to the Hydro Transmission Corridor be received
and a copy be sent to the Planning Administration Committee to
insure if any Town land is involved.

THAT the Report dated February 25th, 1977 of the Planning
Administration Committee regarding Task Force with regard
to the Courtice Development be adopted.

Moved by Con. Dykstra, seconded by Con. Taylor.
THAT the Chief Building Inspector be requested to investigate
the roof leaks at the Fire and Police Building and Bowmanville
Town Hall and report to the Personnel and Property Committee.

Resolution #C-77-285
Moved by Con. Woodyard, seconded by Con. Allin.
THAT Resolution #C-77-245 passed on February 21st, 1977 be
amended by adding the words "and that the Chairman of the
Planning Administration Committee and Clerk be given power
to act after receiving further information from the Director
of Public Works".

Moved by Con. Woodyard, seconded by Con. Holliday.
THAT Councillor Gray be appointed as Council's representative
on the Brownsdale Community Centre Board.

Mayor Rickard brought to Councils attention that Item 13 of
the Community Services Committee Report of February 17th, 1977
called for two members of Council to be appointed to a Committee
to select a site for the proposed Courtice Fire Hall and
recommended that Councillor Gray and Councillor Holliday be the
appointees.

THAT the Mayor's recommendation be adopted.
