SUBJECT: STATUS OF THE BOWMANVILLE JAYCEES INC. PARK PROPOSAL
RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. That this report be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
At the last meeting of the Newcastle Community Services Planning Board
it was suggested that Board members be kept informed as to the status
of the Jaycees park proposal as a number of Newcastle Community Services
Planning Board members had concerns with respect to its location
vis-a-vis the Bowmanville Zoo.
Attached to this report you will find a letter from the Bowmanville
Jaycees Inc. indicating that they do not wish to proceed with the
project at this point in time but may wish to reconsider in 1985.
I trust that the attached letter will provide additional background
for Board members with respect to this issue.
