REPORT TO THE GENERAL PURPOSE AND ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE
MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 5 1984

SUBJECT: ENERGY CONSERVATION PROGRAM
RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council the following:
1. That Administrator's report ADMIN. 86 - 84 be received;
2. That Mr. Joseph P. Caruana be named as Energy Conservation
Program Co-ordinator;
3. That an Energy Conservation Committee composed of one member of Council,
the Energy Conservation Program Co-ordinator and Department Heads be
formed to meet as required to implement low-cost no -cost energy
conservation measures;
4. That the Energy Conservation Co-ordinator report on the activities
of the Committee as required to the General Purpose and Administration
Committee of Council.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
With the adoption of the Energy Conservation report at the October 9th
1984 Council meeting, there is a need to identify an Energy Conservation
Program co-ordinator and to select an appropriate committee.
This Committee would meet as required to examine low-cost no -cost ways
of energy conservation. It is anticipated that significant savings
can be achieved through the review of our building maintenance practices.
