Mr. William Medwid spoke on behalf of his application
for a building permit and to retain a cottage on his lot on
lDt 14, Concession 5 pending the completion of a new
dwelling.
Mr. J. Riznek addressed Council with a request to include
seven acres of a twenty acres parcel on the north west corner
of Tooley Road and Highway #2 as Carrnercial in the Courtice
Area Plan.

WHEREAS the Hampton Conservation Area Master Plan report
was presented to Newcastle Council on January 30 1978;
and
WHEREAS the public opinions expressed resulted in a
modified version of this plan to acccmnodate the public
concerns presented;
and
WHEREAS the e:J:oding of the pond berm and the bridge foundations
have resulted in the forced road on the berm being closed for
safety reasons;
and
WHEREAS C.L.O.C.A. can not obtain capital funds for pond and berm
restoration until a plan for recreational purposes of some
description has been adopted by the 'Ibwn of Newcastle and
C.L.O.C.A.
and
WHEREAS a road over the berm is desirable; and
WHEREAS a rejuvenated pond is desirable; and
WHEREAS the berm repairs are desirable,
THEREFDRE be it resolved that the 'Ibwn of Newcastle Council
recannend the modified plan for consideration to a public
meeting of the Hampton and area citizens to be arranged by
the 'Ibwn Manager on October 18 1979.

Municipality.

WHEREAS the stonn drainage (ditches and culverts) in the
Village of Burketon is reported to be in a very poor state of
repair. Site lines on the main North/South Road
appear inadequate.
The travelled portion of the main NOrth/South Road appear to
be from 15 to 1 n feet in width and the soft shoulder in
need of grading to avoid up to a 4" drop in places from the
pavE!llent to the shoulder.
The railway crossing, related drainage and warning signs appear
below standards.
Therefore be it resolved that the Director of Works report to
Council (through Conmittee) what in his opinion is the state
of repair of these i terns and the remedies necessary to upgrade
these facilities to the standards of other hamlets in the
Tbwn of Newcastle and how best to accommodate this work within
the works budget.

'IHAT Resolution P 63-79 be amended to read as follows:
1. That the proposed changes be made to the standard
fonn of Subdivision Agreanent:
"Architectural Cbntrol"
1) The owner covenants and agrees with the Town that it will
exercise or cause to be exercised architectural control
over the design and construction of
dwellings on the Plan (Plan of Subdivision) through
compliance with the following;
a) That the exterior construction on all hanes be
mostly masonry;
b) That there be variation in the homes to be erected;
c) That not more than t\ro abutting hanes shall be
similar in model type;
d) That where a unit will abut an existing residential
unit, the proposed unit will be of a similar type.
2) The owner convenants and agrees that it will in the
agreanent of purchase and sale require each builder purchase
from it to file, prior to applying for a building pennit
with the Town a master plan to be approved by the Town for
the lots purchased by the builder purchaser showing housing
types, elevations and the distribution of models or such lots.
