RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is respectfully recommended that the General Purpose and Administration
Committee recommend to Council that Budget Discussion Paper Number One
be received for information.
BACKGROUND AND COMMENT:
Budget Discussion Paper Number One provides a corporate framework within
which the activities of the Town are carried on by members of staff.
Throughout the year an attempt has been made to increase the number and
the quality of the various job descriptions whenever and wherever possible.
For the most part it is most opportune to make any necessary changes to
job descriptions as the positions become vacant. By adopting this concept
approximately ten positions have had their job descriptions re -written.
It is my intention to continue this practise in 1985.
For the information�Of Councillors, I have marked those job descriptions
that have been re -written or created with an asterisk. Staff have re -written
several of the union positions, however, such information has not in the
past been included in Budget Discussion Paper Number One.
I have also identified on the organizational chart the desire to look
at the organizational structure of the. Community Services Department
this year. With the changing responsibilities of the Department (i.e. less
direct programming), I feel it appropriate to examine the role of the
department. This review should be a priority of the new Director of
Community Services.
