That Administrator's report ADMIN. 49 - 85 be received; 2. That Administrator's report ADMIN. 45 - 85 be lifted from the table and approved. 3. That the Library Board be advised of Council's actions. BACKGROUND AND COMMENT: As directed by Council, I met with the Chairman of the Newcastle Public Library Board and the Chief Librarian to explain the alternate office location which Council wished the Board to consider. The Library Board Chairman indicated that without going back to the Board he had no power to act. Since our meeting, I have been advised by way of memorandum, a copy of which is attached, that the Board met and reconsidered Council's suggested alternative for the office location. The Board re -affirmed its previous decision made by Board motion 85/105. As such, the Board's preferred location of the office would be in the south-east corner of the building with the office occupying a small portion of the glass frontage of the building. Respectfully submitted, DSJ:nof David . Johnston, M.C.I.P., Chief Administrative Officer att.
