July 23rd, 1979
Minutes of a special meeting of Council held on
July 23rd, 1979, at 3:30 p.m. in the Bell Building
Committee Room.
Present were: Mayor Garnet B. Rickard
Councillor Keith Barr
Councillor William Clarke
Councillor Ivan M. Hobbs
Councillor Jasper W. Holliday
Councillor Maurice Prout
Also Present: A.C. Guiler, Town Manager
Resolution #C-949-79
Moved by Councillor Holliday, seconded by Councillor Clarke.
THAT Albert Guiler be appointed Acting Clerk for the
purpose of recording the minutes of this meeting.

Resolution #C-950-79
Moved by Councillor Holliday, seconded by Councillor Barr.
THAT Report #TM-68-79 dated June 6th, regarding salary
adjustments for the following Non-Union Staff: Deputy
Treasurer, Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Executive
Secretary, Town Clerk's Secretary and Public Works
Secretary, be adopted.

Moved by Councillor Clarke, seconded by Councillor Holliday.
THAT Report #TM-69-79 dated July 5th, 1979 regarding the
position of Deputy Clerk/Committee Secretary, be adopted.
"CARRIED AS AMENDED"
Resolution #C-952-79
Moved by Councillor Holliday, seconded by Councillor Prout.
THAT recommendation No.2 of the Town Manager's Report #TM-69-79
be amended to read as follows:-
"That we advertise the position of Deputy Clerk
and the appointment be made effective January 1st,
1980."

Moved by Councillor Holliday, seconded by Councillor Clarke.
THAT Councillor Hobbs be appointed to work with the
Town Manager to review the benefit package for Non-Union
Staff and report back to Council as soon as possible.

Moved by Councillor Clarke, seconded by Councillor Barr.
THAT the Special Meeting of Council be now adjourned.
