Rickard, Mayor DATE: June 26th, 1981 SUBJECT: Vacant lands in the Town of Newcastle (formerly Bowmanville) - Mutt Enterprises (Milani) and Southeast Building Corp.. I have received complaints recently with respect to the appearance of some vacant lands in the Town of Newcastle (former Town of Bowmanville) and I enclose herewith copies of correspondence which I have forwarded to the owners of the premises, in accordance with the information from the records in the Tax Department. The condition of these premises has been brought to the attention of this office by Mrs. Christine Simon, of Quinn Drive. Unfortunately, it is situations like this that prompt municipalities to enact property standards and maintenance by-laws and enforce the same. To avoid the necessity of taking action under such a by-law, it would be in your interest to cut the grass and spray the weeds so that it would .not be such an eyesore and a nuisance to the adjoining land owners.
